National Military Family Assn. - Presents to Congress
Natiional Military Family Association - Today our Association testified before Members of Congress on current issues facing military family members, including the recent MyCAA halt and changes to TRICARE benefits. Thanks to those who have commented on our page on these two issues – we are proud to be your voice on Capitol Hill. Click below to read in full the testimony we submitted for the record.
Testimony
The National Military Family Association is invited to present testimony before a variety of groups and agencies on a regular basis. While our testimony has been primarily prepared for Senate and House committees and subcommittees, in recent years we have also prepared statements for state legislatures and special commissions appointed by the President.
The testimony process starts several months beforehand when we research as an Association what issues are impacting uniformed service families. What issues were not resolved the year before? What are we hearing from families, our Representatives and Volunteers, and from other agencies that work with families? We develop one comprehensive document and our subject matter experts in our Government Relations department develop sections pertaining to their issues. We include meaningful stories we hear from families about these issues.
We also contribute to the testimony developed by The Military Coalition (TMC), an umbrella group of 34 military and veteran focused organizations that work together to improve the quality of life and personnel issues for service members, retirees, veterans, the wounded, ill and injured, their families and survivors. We are often invited to testify as part of a panel of TMC members. That testimony can be found at www.themilitarycoalition.org.
